Mapped redevelopment project cases in downtown Austin
From the original project

Downtown project cases mapped for the Fall 2023 academic review; this is a historical project snapshot.

The question

How do land use, heritage, and movement shape downtown redevelopment choices?

The approach
  1. Reviewed the Downtown Austin Plan and mapped 24 active development cases documented in the Fall 2023 presentation.
  2. Examined Waterloo Greenway, Sixth Street, historic preservation, Project Connect, and other transportation proposals.
  3. Compared redevelopment activity with housing, homelessness-response, and public-safety issues discussed in the study.
The outcome

The presentation brings mapped development cases and planning initiatives together to examine trade-offs between growth, mobility, public space, and community needs.
